Bamboo Flatware For A Steal

As you may remember from this post, I have dark brown bamboo flatware that I bring out for special occasions. I just got an e-mail today that Neiman Marcus is offering 25% off select home items, and these bamboo flatware sets are on sale!! They come in 20 piece sets (4 place settings), so for 12 people/place settings, the light bamboo ones are $56.25 total and the darker brown bamboo ones are $78.75. That's less than a pair of shoes for a way to really spruce up your dining table for special occasions! Just wanted to pass on a good deal, or maybe good gift idea for Mother's Day!

It is November 4, which means that the holiday season is rapidly approaching, and so are the ideas about what to buy for all my relatives and friends for the holidays.

I am a pretty thrifty person... I buy party supplies at the Dollar Store, and groceries from WalMart (with coupons!). But, when it comes to this time of year, my bank account feels the pinch... My husband is one of 5 kids, and between his  siblings and their significant others, parents, grandmothers, work colleagues, best friends, and my own family, we have a ton of people to buy for. Even if the gifts were $20 each (which they are not!), we are still looking at a couple hundred bucks of gifts. Which is also why we usually never get each other anything big.

Since most people are feeling the pinch this year more than ever, I have put together a list of websites for Deals and Steals. Thrifty Finds 8.17.2011

Since not all my great finds are vintage, I am adding to the Wednesday Vintage Finds and adding some Thifty Finds as well. This week, I made a killer score at the Salvation Army.... brand new marigold cords from Gap and in MY size!

Note their original price of $54.50. Their previous owner must have bought them on super clearance for $15.99, and then didn't wear them, and donated them to Salvation Army. Notice the $6.99 price tag? I didn't pay that either... it was half-off clothing Wednesdays, so I snagged these for $3.50!

A little thrown off by the color? It's one of the hottest new colors for fall. Check out photo three... I spy marigold cords:
